Hurricane Sally and Zeta Damage
8/18/2021 (Permalink)
As the old adage goes, "Prepare for the worst, hope for the best." We know that living in a hurricane prone area means that the next storm could always be around the corner, so we must always be prepared.
Last year, we saw a record two hurricanes affect the Baldwin County area: Hurricane Sally and Hurricane Zeta. Hurricane Sally was a slow moving system that caused extensive wind damage, wind-driven rain, and flooding. Hurricane Zeta followed roughly a month later while many homes, businesses, and condominiums were being restored. Luckily, Hurricane Zeta was not as strong as Hurricane Sally so the damage was not as widespread and catastrophic.
Expect the Unexpected
Every spring, we prepare for the potential that a hurricane will impact our area during the summer or fall. We prepare by securing resources such as equipment, consumables, and labor, and securing agreements with franchise partners who will travel to assist if disaster strikes. This yearly preparation paid off when we had two back to back hurricanes impact our area in 2020. We received over 90 calls from condominiums with significant damage and countless calls from businesses and commercial facilities in Baldwin County. Because of the prep, we were able to assist all who called in a timely manner. Choosing SERVPRO of Baldwin County means choosing a company backed by a national brand with nationwide resources. You can rest easy knowing that we have the ability to assist, no matter the size of disaster. We are always Here to Help: 251-928-9625.
